LIGNOCAINE

Indications:

1 - The control of pain, itching, burning and other unpleasant symptoms due to :

- Minor burns.              

- Abrasions.

- Napkin rash and stomatitis apthosa.   

- Non poisonous insect bites.

- Inoperable anorectal conditions.

- Haemorrhoids, fissures, nipple soreness.

 - Dermatological lesions, and similar conditions.

2 - Anaesthetic lubricant for endotracheal intubation.

3 - Prevent and control pain during examination and instrumentation.

Precautions :

Not more than 30g should be applied in one day . Although lignocaine has been shown to be relatively free from allergic and sensitizing properties these possibilities should not be overlooked. Apply with caution to severely traumatized mucosa and sepsis in the region of application .

Contraindications:

-Known hypersensitivity to local anaesthetics of the amide type.

Application :

Apply to the affected area once or twice daily or in any suitable frequency. For fis­sured nipples apply the cream after each feed, but aseptic cleansing prior to each feeding is essential. The use of a sterile gauzed pad is suggested when applying the product to broken or burnt skin.

Drug interactions : None.

Side Effects :

Hypersensitivity reactions may be encountered but they are rare. Packing :Tube of 20 gm.

Calcium

Indications

- During childhood, pregnancy & lactation to overcome the increased demand for calcium.

-Osteomalacia, rickets, post-menopausal& senile osteoporosis.

- Cases of excessive loss or reduced absorption of calcium such as in prolonged treatment with corticosteroids, in cases of gastrectomy & in hypoparathyroidism.

- Renal osteodystrophy.

- Chronic renal failure.

Side effects:

Minor gastrointestinal disturbance rarely occurs.

Contraindications:

Hypercalcaemia, hypercalciuria , calcium renal calculi.

Precautions:

In patients prone to formation of renal calculi it is advised to increase the fluid intake.

- Caution should be taken in patients who complain from hypertension, heart failure, renal diseases, oedema and all cases that need salt restriction.

Dosage:

Adults      1 - 2 sachets daily.

Aciloc 150

Indications

*Aciloc  granules is indicated in short-term treatment and maintenance therapy of:

- Active duodenal ulcers

- Benign gastric ulcers

- Postoperative ulcers

- Reflux oesophagitis

- Zollinger —Ellison Syndrome

*Aciloc granules is also indicated as a prophylaxis of gastrointestinal hemorrhage from stress ulceration in seriously ill patients.

*Aciloc granules is effectively indicated for fast relief of hyperacidity and heartburn.

 Side Effects:

Hypersensitivity reactions; urticaria and bronchospasm, have been noticed rarely.

 Headache and dizziness have been reported in very small proportion of patients.

Contraindications:

Aciloc granules is contraindicated in patients known to have hypersensitivity to Ranitidine.

Dosage:

·   Maintenance of duodenal and gastric ulcers healing; 150 mg (one sachet) at bed time.

·   Erosive oesophagitis: 150 mg (one sachet) four times daily.

·   For the treatment of hyperacidity, heartburn & gastric upset; 150 mg (one sachet) twice daily.

. Dose for patients with impaired renal function (i.e. with Creatinine Clearance <50 ml/min.); 150 mg (one sachet) every 24 hours, the frequency of dosing may be increased to every 12 hours or even further with caution.

Direction for Use:

Add the contents of one sachet to half a glass of water and drink while effervescence.

How Supplied:

A box containing 5 sachets. A box containing 1,0 sachets.

DYSENTRIN

INDICATIONS

·   Gastroenteritis. enterocolitis and colitis of bacterial origin.

·   Bacillary dysentery

·   Amoebic dysentery

·   Non specitic diarrhea

·   CONTRAINDICATION:

Hypersensitivity to sulphonamides, iodine intolerance and hepatic or renal insufficiency.

 DOSAGE:

To prepare the suspension: add the contents of one sachet Ion teaspoonful of water (in case of low doses) or the contents of two sachets to a tablespoonful of water ( in case of high doses and mix well before administration,

Infants (under I year age): hall teaspoonful every 4 to 6 hours daily.

Children (1 -3 years) :1 teaspoonful every 4 to 6 hours daily.

Children (4- 12 years): I tablespoonful every 4106  hours daily.

Adults : -2 tablespoonfuls every 4106  hours daily.

PRECAUTIONS:

1 Dilodohydroxyguin may cause myleo-opticoneuropathy in some patients, especially, when used for a long period. Accordingly, the product should not be used for more than 10

consecutive days,

2 - Children may be more likely to develop certain side effects especially if the product is given at
